1. Yamaha Generator Remote Start Kit

For all you guys out there with Yamaha EF3000i and EF3000iSEB with boost. You can now start the generator in the morning from inside your trailer instead of tiptoe across the wet grass in your bare feet in the morning dew, to start a generator. Yamaha have intorduced a 'Remote Start Kit' this allows you to start and stop your Yamaha EF3000iSE or EF3000iSEB generator remotely. Features includes fully automatic starting using the wireless remote start/stop switch on the easy-to-carry key fob transmitter. Start Kit automatically activates the choke when needed, so you can even start a cold generator with ease. Panel-mounted key switch can still be used to start the generator when desired.

Wireless Remote Start External Antenna Kit Internal antenna is perfect for operation up to 75 feet away, for longer range use, up to 300 feet unobstructed.MSRP: $85.95 Canadian $ in stock. I purchased and installed one of these remote start kits in my ef3000iSEB today, install went without a hitch and it works perfectly now. I have owned the generator for approx five years now and love it. I have a couple of questions however that I can't seem to answer myself.

To operate the keyless remote, you first turn the key to the 'on' position, then can use remote start to operate the generator on and off. First, the manual states to start the generator without a load, nothing plugged into it. Now that I have a remote start can I leave my RV plugged into the generator all weekend and use the key fob to start and stop the generator or do I have to go disconnect the RV start generator, reconnect RV each time? Second, does the battery drain on the generator if you leave the key set to 'on' position for say a weekend? Example, run the generator in the evening then when its lights out time, use the key fob to turn off the generator and go to sleep. The key on the generator would be left in the 'on' position.

Then in the morning use the remote start again to start the generator. The key would be left on all night in this case, would it drain the little battery inside the generator? Thanks in advance for any and all help!!!
